1) TTC FUNDRAISER – Friday, November 27th
What: As a part of World AIDS Day, ASAAP will be selling Bamboo shoots at 3 TTC Subway Stations to raise awareness around HIV/AIDS and funds for the agency.
Where: At the 3 Following TTC subway stations:
  • Queen’s Park
  • St. George
  • Finch
When: Friday, November 27, from 11am - 5pm

Come visit us at the designated subway stations and show your support!!

2) DOSTI DIARIES
Dosti Diaries Announcement
Nobody understands what it’s like to be Gay and South Asian like you do. It’s a collection of unique experiences, trying to balance family, culture, tradition and love, sexuality and identity. Perhaps it’s time to share those unique experiences with a broader audience, so everyone can understand us a little better.
 
ASAAP is commencing on a new project, tentatively titled ‘Dosti Diaries’. We’d love for you to share some of your personal experiences with us – under complete confidentiality, of course. No experience is too quirky or weird. We want to know exactly how the life of a South Asian gay male plays out, and what different personalities and identities come together to form this wonderful community.
 
Marital pressure? Closet paranoia? Dating dilemmas? Racism? Homophobia? Sexual issues? Balancing religion with being gay? Whatever it is – we want to hear it.

Your experiences will be assimilated into the stories of fictional characters, whose collective story will be published on the Dosti website. These characters will be just like us, so we can learn, and identify with their experiences.
 
Here’s what we promise you:
  • Your stories will be kept completely confidential.
  • The stories are fictional, about fictional characters – so no one will ever know where the stories came from.
  • You can submit the stories under complete anonymity.
  • Every month, the best three submissions will win a small honorarium.

    So come on, share your world with us. We might be a lot more similar than we think.
