T-shirt wearers across North America and the UK will now have an opportunity to help raise funds to support South Asians affected by and living with HIV/AIDS, and look good doing it. The Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention (ASAAP), in partnership with Desi Wear have collaborated to create the “Desi for Life” clothing line, proceeds of which will go towards the programs and services offered by the Toronto-based agency. A design contest was held last summer, and an entry by graphic artist Laura Barcena was chosen to don the shirts. “Desi for Life” means being proud of who you are, standing up for what you believe in, and supporting South Asians affected by and living with HIV/AIDS. |
